Travel Safe; Travel Smart
We know you are gearing up for mid-term exams and essays this week but give a thought about getting ready to go on your mid-term travels as well.
First things first, have you told us about your travel plans? It is essential that we know how to contact you in case of an emergency so don't forget to fill out the Overnight Stay Form.
- Take along photocopies of your passport and other relevant documentation such as your immigration letter, financial statement and confirmation of your return ticket to the United States.
- Make sure you have the SU Emergency number with you at all times. If you are traveling in Europe make a note that the European emergency services number is 112 (NOT 999).
- Take care when using cash machines, travelling on public transport, and moving around in crowded public places.
- Use sense when out with your friends; make sure you look out for one another.
And finally, have a great time! If you have any questions or need any last minute help stop by Student Life, SR109.

Simple precautions prevent serious consequences!
In a large city like London it is particularly important to take simple precautions to prevent serious consequences.
For your safety please be vigilant and keep both the front door of your building and your apartment door closed and locked at all times. It may be tempting to leave your door unlocked when you are home or if you step out briefly. Do not do it. This provides the perfect opportunity for an intruder to gain entry to your building or flat without permission.
Keep yourself, your flatmates and your stuff safe by locking up!
Thursday Alternative
Join Charine for this week's Thursday Alternative, Circa -- a circus for the 21st century at the Barbican Center. Tickets are limited so sign-up early to see one of the most amazing, jaw-dropping Alternatives this term.
Sign up in Student Life SR 109; tickets cost £5 each.
Have Your Say in Speaker's Corner
SU London's newsletter, Speaker's Corner, needs you.
Want to see your name in print? We are looking for your original work, both photos and writing, for publication in the first edition. Drop by SR 109 or SR201 and speak to Melissa Willby about how to get involved.
